Red Friday: Oct 2, 2009
Today's our first "Red Friday"! It's something new we're trying out....to give bloggers an opportunity to share on their blogs about support of our nation's heroes - and get some extra visitors to their sites!
Each Friday, people across America wear red to demonstrate their support for our nation's heroes. (Check out RedShirtFriday's website for more info!) So let's decorate our blogs — not only with words about our heroes, but actions in support of them! (To participate, post on your blog, then come back here and place the direct link into "Mister Linky" at the bottom of this post.)
You can blog about anything you like regarding our heroes, but here are a few suggestions:
- your own efforts to support deployed warriors
- your town's efforts and events
- links to stories about warriors
- links to articles about the conflicts they're fighting, the conditions they live in
- videos that inspire
- photos of our heroes — borrow them from OWH if you'd like!
We'll post a suggestion for each week's post in case you need some help getting started...
- October 2: a card you'll be sending to OWH (in honor of World Cardmaking Day)
- October 9: an inspiring video
- October 16: link to a troop-support group in your town
- October 23: blog about what impresses you about heroism
Without further ado....link away!

Thank you Operation Write Home for all you do in support of our nation's armed forces. I personally know what this means to the many families out there receiving our cards. In honor of Red Friday I shared my personal story in today's blog post. I'm sorry I didn't have a new OWH card ready in time to post but if you scroll through my blog all the previous posts are cards I've made for Operation Write Home.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Karen
