Mailroom Monday: March 1, 2010

Each week it's so amazing that our shippers are able to continue sending box after box after box overseas! This past week saw 6,835 cards mailed out...that's 21 boxes! (Shipping cost $259.00.)

Pictured at right are 11 boxes staged and waiting for final steps. They're filled with A2 cards on the bottom, a small stack of oversized cards on one half of the top, and space is available for the packets of Anyhero mail that will fill the other half. The flyer you can see on top of that front box is one that was donated by a local printer who wanted to help out—it's a beautiful color flyer, and has photos of heroes holding cards...hopefully showing our contacts just how much we love pictures of them with our handiwork!

After the AnyHero mail is added to the boxes, a letter to the specific contact is added, then the box is taped closed, mailing label added, customs form filled out, and a large "Operation Write Home" label added to the outside. We've been told that some mailrooms may be priroritizing our boxes since they know what's inside by that big beautiful label on the box!

I wondered where those big OWH labels on the outside where coming from. WooHoo to the POs that prioritize us!

Thank you for sharing this wonderful news that we are placing smiles to many of our heroes each week! I am proud to be associated with this effort in my small way. Most of all, I am so pleased we have you to do this loving and much needed task!
Big Hugs to you and of course all of our Heroes!
Sincerely,
