A quick note

Apologies to anyone who won't like this (and I'm anti-CAPTCHA myself)....but I've been forced to turn word verification back onto all our blogs. It's a pain to type in the codes, I know. I don't like it either. But we're getting all kinds of porn spam on our blogs, and it's taking an inordinate amount of time to go and delete it all. We'll turn it off for things like birthday bashes and bloghops, but for normal day-to-day stuff, sorry to say it's back. :(

ETA: To those who've also asked why I don't just switch to comment moderation: that adds even more to the email overload. I already get hundreds of emails a day, sometimes up to 250 on a really big day. I can't fathom more!

I'm happy to use word verification and happy to leave comments even if I have to type a goofy word. I've seen your side of it and the overload of vile things you can get. In fact, I think twice when I take part in a hop that wants me to turn off verification. I always end up with more junk e-mail afterward. I turn it back on asap.

I'm all for reducing the work load. It only take a couple extra seconds to do the word verification.

Don't worry. A few seconds to make your life easier is a good thing. You already do SOOOO much. This is a small thing we can do to help YOU!

I don't mind the word verification. At least I can read the blogger words. Other sites are more difficult. I'm sorry you have to even think about this! ~Robin
