Craft for a Cause Contest Celebration!
And secondly, the voting phase - you all tolerated daily facebook posts, reminders on the blogs, special annoying emails.....and you all went out there and voted. Again and again - thank you!!
The results were fantastic - Operation Write Home won SECOND PLACE! The prize is $25,000!!! We couldn't be more impressed with your efforts....thank you! And we are uber-grateful to Jo-Ann's for their generosity in giving away prizes like they did - WOW! What a company with HEART!
What now?
Our first expenditure will be ordering a case of packing tape. And treating our shippers to new tape guns! We're "big spenders" 'round here! LOL!
In 2011 our board will be meeting to start talking about the expenditure of those monies. Though this prize gives us some breathing room, my dream would be to continue paying for shipping with the gifts made by our cardmakers and supporters....the donations regularly of $5, $20, $50, and $100 have made it possible to keep those boxes going out to our heroes, and we want your monies to go to the actual program! With any large grants we receive, I'd like us to cover administrative and professional fees, so your regular gifts keep the program going :)

I can't thank Joann's enough for offering this awesome prize that will make it much easier to get the cards to our heroes! Congratulations - this is fantastic. I must admit I didn't vote EVERYDAY - but then, my excuse was that we were in the midst of moving - so I tried my best and it DID count. Awesome!!
